Terms of Service & License Agreement

Plain-English summary (the sections below govern): you bought a personal license to use the app on your own devices. Don't redistribute it. Exercise carries risk and this app isn't medical advice. We're a tiny operation and our liability is capped at what you paid. If something's broken, email us and we'll make it right or refund you.
1. The license you're buying
When you purchase Cycle at Your Desk, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the app on devices you own or control (up to three), for personal, non-commercial use. This is a license, not a sale of the software itself.
2. What you may not do
- Redistribute, resell, sublicense, or share the app or your download link with people who haven't purchased it.
- Circumvent purchase verification or any future license mechanism.
- Use the app in a commercial setting (gyms, studios, coaching services) without a separate agreement — email us, we're easy to talk to.
3. Health & exercise disclaimer
Cycle at Your Desk is not a medical device and provides no medical advice. It reads consumer heart-rate sensors and adjusts trainer resistance; sensors can be wrong, and software can misbehave. Exercise involves inherent risk, including risk of serious injury or death. Consult a physician before beginning any exercise program, especially if you have a heart condition or other medical concerns. Set your own limits conservatively (including the app's max-heart-rate settings), stop if you feel unwell, and never rely on the app to protect you from overexertion. You use it at your own risk.
4. Your data
Your rides, settings, and connections live on your own device. See the Privacy Policy — it's short because we collect almost nothing.
5. Third-party services
Optional integrations (such as Strava) are governed by those services' own terms. Strava is a trademark of Strava, Inc.; Cycle at Your Desk is not affiliated with or endorsed by Strava or any trainer manufacturer.
6. Updates & availability
Your one-time purchase includes the app as delivered plus updates we choose to ship. We intend to keep the app working but don't promise perpetual updates, compatibility with future hardware or operating systems, or availability of optional online services.
7. Refunds
If the app doesn't work with your equipment or you're unhappy within 30 days, email support@cycleatyourdesk.com and we'll refund your purchase.
8. Warranty disclaimer
The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from the app or these terms is limited to the amount you paid for your license. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including personal injury to the extent disclaimable by law, lost data, or lost profits.
10. Termination
This license ends automatically if you materially breach these terms. Sections 3, 8, and 9 survive termination.
11. General
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. We may update these terms; material changes will be posted here with a new date. Questions: support@cycleatyourdesk.com.
